![]() I would say to buy Zbrush only if you target super detailled characters making or super detailled 3D assets. Depending on your needs and skills it might be worth a look. The interface is also completely different and very straightforward. Its sculpting tools are very smooth, and its 3D painting very simple. The usual workflow would be to import your low poly model into the Retopo room in 3D - Coat and then UV map the low poly. I generally use Zbrush 'zmodeller' tool for hard surface modelling with crease information on it. Where is radial symmetry ? super needed Obviously not in the same league as ZBrush or MudBox, but is probably a fair competitor for 3D - Coat. Auto retopolgy, instable lot of times, crashes, not good results for in game low poly Can crash easy when increasing models resolution, because voxels uses too much memory If there is better software that I can use to just paint in 3d I’d appreciate that input as well. ![]() If I can find an efficient method I could enjoy it more. I own both but working with them is just a hobby after work. 3d coat seems to really struggle with them. + All in One tool : sculpt, retopo, paint, export Is there an efficient workflow to get from high rez zbrush to 3d coat. + The best tool for retopology and fast retopology (quads tool, lines. + Complete painting tool : ability to paint diffuse/normal/specular maps retopology tools are far from 3D Coat (even last retopo features makes too much polys sometimes for in game) + All tools and brushes and sculpting options you could ever need (Dynamesh, clip tools, insert mesh, subtools,Zspheres etc. + Low memory needed : I could have super resolution character in Zbrush with it taking only some 500Mo from system. Increasing resolution and you keep super speed sculpting + ultra fast sculpting because it don't relies on Voxels. Indeed Zbrush dominates and far away, it is the best for super detailled characters and it has so much tools and options (zplugins also).Īs i own and used a lot these tools i will list the strong points only : Cos at the moment it seems zBrush is dominating the 3D sculpting arena
